The Importance of Color
Color is the first element in fashion to have visual impact. A color wheel serves as a guide for discovering color combinations, schemes, or relationships that have the greatest visual impact.

For this assignment, the class had to use body calculators in order to identify our body shapes, then research the do's and don'ts on how to properly dress that body type. I really enjoyed this assignment because it not only helped me better understand my body, but I now had a better idea of how to dress consumers when I started working retail.
Know Your Audience​

This charming display was put together by me and my two partners. For our final class project, we had to create one that would be seen in a local store window and pick a theme that would appeal to our target audience. Seeing that our's was an upscale younger family mix and it was around the holidays at the time, we felt a traditional Christmas theme was an ideal route to take. Parties around the holidays, in particular, bring a sense of warmth and joy; they are a great way for young adults to interact with those they hold dear whether they are people who they have been out of touch with, or people they see on a day-to-day basis. Because of our target market, I went for a sophisticated look for both adults and children.

Overall, this assignment taught me the importance of researching a consumer's everyday lifestyle and how greatly an impact it can have to a local retail store.
Color Of the Year
Color is the first element in fashion to have visual impact. For this project, we had to make a color and theme prediction for our favorite designer's next show using color schemes from his/her's previous designs. "What was the inspiration behind this show as compared to last year's show?" "Why did he choose these colors?" "Is there there a connection" "Will there be a tie-in for next year's showing or do they all tell completely different stories?" These were the questions this project made me think about. Without realizing it, I learned to pay more attention detail and creatively.
